FORMER Malaita Provincial Premier Peter Ramohia has lost his Ward 24 seat after being voted out during Wednesday’s Provincial election.

The election has seen new comer Peter Taraumae a former Malaria senior officer in Malaita province being elected as the new member for the Ward in the west Are Are constituency.

Mr Taraumae polled 847 votes while Mr Ramohia gets a tick from only 530 voters.

Mr Ramohia was elected into Malaita provincial government in 2015 and become premier of Malaita province.

In his acknowledging words, Mr Ramohia thanked his people of Malaita Province for the past 4 years where he served as their servant.

“I give back glory and honour to God as well.

“I wish the new incoming MPG God's guidance, wisdom and protection. I do hope you will use the past MART GOVT policy to guide you in development of your new policy.

“I also hope to see new Govt aligning it's new policy with DCGA for the better of our Malaita Province.

“God bless us all,” the former Malaita Premier posted this, to the Malaita Forum on Facebook last night.

For ward 25, former member Joe Heroau returns his seat with total votes of 688 while Slyde Ehakeni comes second with 530 votes.

This means that Mr Heroau and Taraumae will lead two wards that make West Are Are constituency in the southern part of Malaita province.
