ATHLETICS Australia has thanked the countries that have their para-athletes classified during the international classification held in Australia last week.

Athletics Australia, Para-Athletics Junior High-Performance Coordination Steve Caddy uttered this via an email to all the counties that had their para-athletes successfully classified and took part in the Queensland State Championships.

“Thank you for coming to the Queensland State Championships and attending

International Classification,” Caddy said in his email Star Sports had cited.

Particularly he acknowledged the important people from World Para Athletics, Queensland Athletics, Paralympic Australia, and Queensland Sports Athletics Centre who contributed significantly and ensured the international classification and competition ran efficiently.

“This is always a complicated process which many people are invested in, emotionally and financially, and we all appreciate your efforts throughout the past 10 days (and months prior) to facilitate the requirements of World Para Athletics, Queensland Athletics, Paralympics Australia, Athletics Australia, and all the individual athletes, support personnel and families that attended,” he said.

He also applauded the team from Oceania Paralympics Committee (OPC) who attended the classification and competition.

”A special mention to all the  National Paralympic Committees (NPC’s) support personnel that made sure their athletes were where they needed to be when they needed to be there.”

Few people he mentioned their names are Chris Nunn, Tim, Raylene, John, Patricia, Nihal Seneviratne, and Ayuko.

“I am sure a few others that I have not included – apologies if you haven’t received a mention.

“Thank you for distributing the appropriate information to your team members and communicating with me throughout the process from start to finish!

He also thanked everyone who was on the schedule for arriving on time, in good health and with the necessary equipment, documentation & representative.

“It is these little things that make the life of those who administer the process that much easier.”

Caddy also wished all the participating countries a safe trip to their homes.

Meanwhile, Star Sports understands all the Oceania Countries who attended the International Classification and the championships already left Australia on Monday this week.
