THE Solomon Islands Swimming Federation (SISF) will return to the Telina, Marovo Lagoon in the Western Province to scout for top swimmers with impressive swim timings.

This was revealed by swimming coach Stance Belo.

Last year SISF organized its first-ever swimming competition in Marovo Lagoon.

A total of 18 participants took part in the two days competition in July last year.

Belo is impressed with the performance of the swimmers from Marovo.

“These young swimmers are very impressive.

“They have the potential of becoming top swimmers if they continue to train.

“They have improved a lot since being introduced to swimming,” he said.

The federation will help organize trials for these swimmers in preparation for the Pacific Games 2023 as well as the upcoming Oceania Swimming Competition.

SISF like other National Sports Federations is aiming to win gold for the first time in the Pacific Games 2023.

Meanwhile, SISF has called for new interested swimmers to get prepared for registration for swimming classes.

Registration for interested swimmers will start as of next week.

The Solomon Islands Swimming Federation is interested in working with swimmers from age groups eight years to 16 years old.

The motive behind this is to start training interested swimmers from a very young age and also work with other young potential swimmers for future swimming competitions.

The venue for training will be later confirmed.
