Tulagi futsal enters round 2

The Central Islands province (CIP) 2014 futsal competition now enters its second round of matches.

The competition which kicked off last week. Despite the bad weather experience last week matches continued.

Reports said that games now in its second stage and the competition is going on well.

“The weather here has improved and we are hoping to complete our remaining matches by next week depending on the weather situation,” said Triky Boys team manager Johnson Teava.

He said that it is good to see youths and a good number of supporters from around the Islands coming to participate and support their teams.

“Its a very tough competition as each team has to fight through the first round to claim a place into the second round.

“Games are interesting as young people and parents come to participate,” said Teava.

He said that the purpose to initiate the competition is to get youths involve and busy rather than getting involved in unlawful activities.

The competition was organized and supported by the provincial sports department. 

The initiative is part of promoting sports in the province and province preparation towards Easter in which the province plans to host an Easter competition.

Not only that but to prepare for the Solomon Games.
