HFA league kick off date

Football clubs in Honiara are gearing up preparations for the resumption of the Honiara Football Association (HFA) league which is set to kick off in two weeks time.

The HFA administration has revealed the kick off date will be on Saturday April 25th.

This year's games is a completion round two of 2014 and 2015 season league which was unable to be completed due to a clash in timing between the TSL competition season and the HFA league.

The proposed league game days would be Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday.

Premier Division will continue to use Lawson Tama field while Division 1 and 2 continues at KGVI fields.

New inclusions and replacements of new players who have not registered to any HFA club this season is allowed while transfers and movement of currently registered HFA players between clubs are not allowed.

A school league is also proposed to start this year, to be governed by a school league executive body appointed by HFA.

The exact date is yet to be confirmed.

The HFA has applied for a project for youth development and will be expected to receive some sporting equipment later this year.

Since this is for youth Development, the HFA executives has agreed to leave this for the schools.

Clubs are encouraged to partner with any schools so that clubs can help to develop football in the schools, thus schools can become a breeding ground for pool of players to support the clubs.

Meanwhile all HFA clubs are required to pay up their affiliation fee of $1000 for this year before they can be eligible to take on their first league game.

The HFA will meet with HCC soon to discuss use and development of any existing or new soccer fields for future HFA league games.
