LAUTOKA FC coach is expecting a more upright approach from Benjamin Totori upfront, to pose more threat on their opponents defence in their remaining games.

Speaking to the OFC Media after their hard fought opener against Papua New Guinea’s Madang FC, Lautoka coach Kamal Swamy said they need to improve more, upfront.

“Defensively we need to improve – where we set up our lines and the commitment of the players. That will help us in the next game.

“I think we need to improve a lot,” Swamy said.

Despite coming out victorious in their first game, he is not quite satisfied with his forwards.

“They need to release the ball on the sides, and we need to talk to them about it, and so it will be good if they release.

“Few times, I think Benji did not release (the ball), if we do that then we can penetrate the defence more,” he added.

Swamy said, he thinks his three new signings have got a lot of experience, and they did combine well.

The trio have proved their worth, by scoring a goal each, to end the game with a 3-1 score line.

Talisman Totori opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and assisted fellow import Cory Chettleburgh in the 32nd minute to make it 2 for Lautoka FC.

Vanuatu international Brian Kaltack closed the scoresheet adding the third, with an excellent curling free-kick in the 77th minute.

Lautoka FC meets AS Venus on Wednesday, and Auckland City FC will be taking on Madang FC, at Trusts Arena in Auckland.
