Parker, deciding as Chairman ruling alone, only has jurisdiction to impose a sanction of three matches or less.
The delay to refer the matter to a quorum of the OFC Disciplinary Committee is due to the unavailability of neutral members of the Committee this week.
OFC hopes to convene the committee next week.
OFC: As a result, the Acting Chairman has reviewed the all three disciplinary incidents involving the following Nadi players:
1.#14 Samuela DRUDRU (MD1 NAD-AKL : very dangerous tackle – opponent injured)
2.#10 Uraia LOKI (MD2 NAD-AMI : dangerous tackle)
3.#7 Ratu BAINIVALU (MD2 NAD-AMI : spitting at an opposing player)
The Acting Chairman ruling alone has therefore determined that in respect of #14 Samuela DRUDRU and #10 Uraia LOKI, their offence is relevantly serious enough that would warrant a suspension of more than three matches and therefore as it is beyond his jurisdiction so he has ruled the two players are suspended for the rest of this OFC Champions League group stage tournament and their case is referred to the full quorum of the OFC Disciplinary Committee as soon as possible to determine the appropriate sanction.
With respect to the player #7 Ratu BAINIVALU, the offence of spitting carries a minimum sanction of six matches and therefore this case is beyond the jurisdiction of the Chairman ruling alone and so this player is suspended for the rest of the OFC Champions League group stage tournament and his case is referred to the full quorum of the OFC Disciplinary Committee as soon as possible to impose the minimum sanction of six matches and any other further sanction the Committee deems fit.
