Dear Editor - Knowing that Tourism Solomon Islands is hosting a summit on Friday in Honiara to promote domestic travel amidst the coronavirus problems still affecting many countries in the world and the consequential drop in tourist visitors to the Solomon Islands, I came across an article written and posted last week by Andrew Curran in the online publication ‘Simply Flying.’

Dear Editor - This Friday in Honiara, Tourism Solomons will host a summit with Solomon Islands industry leaders to those from the ministry, airline and tourism office, local hoteliers, other accommodation operators, transport providers, and tour companies – all working towards fully agreed, fully aligned set objectives in order to focus on the opportunities domestic tourism offers in the current environment.

Dear Editor – The recent documents posted in the island sun by Steven Maki in response to Wilson Maemae’s call for him to produce legal documents to validate his call for Maemae and Rence Sore to resign from their post, is evidently to the extent that I can agree that the call for Maemae and Sore to resign is urgent and substantial.

Dear Editor - The above subject cannot be overlooked by the people responsible. Having said that, I drove into one of the CHS here in Honiara yesterday morning and realized that many students from Renbel have ended up in that particular CHS.

Dear Editor - As even time swiftly developments in Bangkok where I have found a home for many years since leaving the Solomon Islands as long ago as 1999, I reflected on the many countries I was privileged to have served in as a policeman since 1959 and decided to turn to U Tube on my laptop to listen, once more, to the playing of the National anthems of those countries, including, of course, the Solomon Islands, Zambia, Swaziland, Lesothu, Papua News Guinea, South Africa, St Helena Vanuatu, and even India, where I never served, but was touched to listen to the playing olf the Evening Hymn, ‘Abide with Me’ at a recently held ‘Beating the Retreat Ceremony held in New Delhi.
