VARIOUS organisations and companies have confirmed their willingness to become sponsors for the Miss Solomon Islands Pageant 2015.
This was revealed to the Solomon Star by Joyce Konofilia, the Miss Solomon Islands 2015 organizing committee pageant show director.
“Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) will be providing free of charge installations for all the drop-down banners for the contestants along the Honiara main highway from Lawson Tama to Town Ground Roundabout.
“Honiara City Council (HCC) will do sponsorship for a contestant to promote HCC and its services, Ministry of Commerce & Immigration have also provided equipments, conference facilities, camera and computer for production of pageant promotional materials.
“Honiara Hotel will provide the venue and cocktail function and support for a contestant to become Miss Honiara hotel,” Ms Konofilia said.
According to Ms Konofilia, Sir Tommy Chan the owner of Honiara Hotel is very happy to promote the event as it is a tourism promotion event and being an operator himself he is happy to be part of the pageant, hence his support by sponsoring the opening function at Honiara hotel this Thursday.
She added that, the Ministry of Commerce Marketing and Promotions Manager Cornelius Donga is also very pleased to support the event by donating the equipment for the event.
“As organisers of this year’s event, we are very pleased and grateful to these organisations for responding to our proposals and helping us to make this year’s event a memorable one for both contestants and sponsors.
“The Platinum sponsor for this year’s event is SI Ports Authority and we are very honoured to be part of SI Ports Authority’s priority event in promoting women, gender equality and women development in this country,” the pageant director told the Solomon Star.
Meanwhile, the official launching of Miss Solomon Islands Pageant will be held at the Honiara hotel on Thursday night with guests from the government, business houses, media, NGOs, Donor agencies and women organisations.
