PARLIAMENTARY Opposition Leader THE country’s newly appointed Ombudsman has been congratulated by the Parliamentary Opposition Leader.
In a statement on Tuesday the group’s leader Jeremiah Manele has welcomed the appointment of Fred Fakarii as the country’s new Ombudsman.
Mr Manele while congratulating Mr Fakarii described him as ‘a top choice’ for the job.
“With his wealth of experience as a long time public servant, I have no doubt that Mr Fakarii will add more value to the Ombudsman Office,” he said.
The Opposition Leader said one of the immediate tasks of the new Ombudsman is to work closely with the Government to enable the facilitation and implementation of the Ombudsman Bill once it is passed in Parliament.
Meanwhile, Mr Manele has expressed gratitude to former Ombudsman Joe Porowai for his contributions to the work of the Office of the Ombudsman in the country.
