POLICE are currently assessing reports into the alleged fake educational and professional qualification of former Executive Director of Pan Oceanic Bank, Pinto Kutila.
Supervising Police Commander Juanita Matanga said police have received a lot of reports on that matter and are assessing them.
“There are things we are looking at in terms of civil and criminal,” Ms Matanga said.
“That is why our officers are assessing the circumstances surrounding the allegations.”
When asked if that means no charges are laid yet, Ms Matanga said for any charges to be laid against any person, police would have to first establish the evidence first.
Recent media reports suggest Rano Law firm submitted a complaint to the police on behalf of two members of the POB board, asking police to investigate and charge Pinto with false pretence, fraud, and uttering in light of findings that Pinto falsified his educational qualifications.
