The much awaited Matson Silentworld sponsored Inter Islands rugby championship is now set to kick off on the October 11, 2014.
This has been confirmed by the Solomon Islands Rugby union federation (SIRUF).
This year’s tourney will see the same eight teams competing for the perpetual trophy.
The tournament this year will also see a change on the playing days which are; Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.
SIRUF and the organizing committee are working around the clock to ensure things are in order and ready before the kickoff date.
All 7 teams except for Makira have confirmed their participation in the championship. They are; Bellona, Malaita, Temotu, Rennell, Western, MOI, Guadalcanal. Makira team will give their confirmation this weekend.
Another inclusion into this year’s championship is the registration fee of $3000 per team.
