A SECURITY firm engaged to man Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) domestic jetties has pledged to also clean up the premises.
The assurance came from owner of NW Water Front Security Service Nick Maena.
Mr Maena told the Solomon Star yesterday his firm has been engaged to man the gates and patrol the domestic area.
However, he said as part of their service, they will ensure the ports domestic area is cleaned.
NM Water Front Security Service was engaged just last month as SIPA, under the management of Singaporean Colin Yow introduced news changes.
Mr Maenaurged the public to respect the domestic area and maintain its cleanliness.
He warned his guards will not tolerate nuisance and those loitering in the area.
“Our duty is also to ensure ships berthing at the wharves followed port rules and regulations.”
Mr Maena added the responsibility of keeping our city clean lies in everyone’s hand.
