Dear Editor – On behalf of the people of Marovo, I take this opportunity to share some of our thoughts on our current member of parliament Chief Hon. Snyder. Rini.
First and foremost, the people of Marovo would like to wish you a happy new year filled with good health and wisdom.
Secondly, the people of Marovo would like to publicly acknowledge your leadership for the past 20 years. We are thankful for your service not only to us but also to the people of Solomon Islands in your various capacities as our national leader.
As our leader and a chief in Marovo, we respectfully honor your countless contributions to our welfare and development through your various ministerial portfolios, family assistance, community initiatives, student scholarships, individual pleas and many more.
You have indeed demonstrated a strong leadership and meaningful assistance over our people for the last 20 years. Our people are truly indebted to you in many ways and your legacy will remain with us for many years to come.
Over the past 20 years, the burden of our demand for services may have also taken its toll on your health condition, and so the people of Marovo strongly feel that you now deserve a good rest, free from politics and the hassles of our endless grinding.
And while we respect your democratic right to decide on whether to recontest or not, we kindly ask that you take a deserved rest from politics and focus more on your health.
Maybe it is now the right time for you to give the opportunity to others to take us forward as our people would like to take a different direction by, creating a team effort and establishing coherence among our different stakeholders.
We assure you that the new direction we would like to pursue will build on your legacy that you have left with our people. While you may not be able to implement all of your visions for our people, why not allow the younger generation to implement them?
And regardless of the differences in opinion, we the people of Marovo would like to thank you for your tireless service to us.
With this, we kindly call on our honorable to bow out with respect and honor.
We the people of Marovo will always remember and appreciate your contributions.
Leana via palabatu.
