HEAD of the Central Province police Fred Satu has urged people in the province to respect each other.
His call came after an incident last week at Hororo village, where a man was stoned while working in his food garden.
Mr Satu said the villager was tilling his garden when seven men came and started throwing stones at him.
“He escaped and reported the matter to his village chief,” he said.
“The man was lucky. He could have got killed,” Mr Satu added.
He said those who have differences with others must seek to resolve it peacefully than taking the law into their own hands.
“My appeal to the people is to respect each other,” Mr Satu said.
