THE National Referral Hospital recorded 15 births on Christmas Day.
Thirteen were normal births while a mother gave birth to twins.
A nurse in Charge of the Labor ward Christina Kwaiga disclosed this to the Solomon Star yesterday.
One of the mothers spoken to Brenda Ovosia said she was very happy to have her child born on Christmas night.
“I am so happy to see my son Harris Alimate delivered on Christmas day,” she said.
Mrs Ovosia was from Guadalcanal and her smiling husband Charles Ovosia was from Kwaio, Malaita.
“I am happy to have to have my second child born on the night that was celebrated by many Christians to mark the birth of Christ,” Mr Ovosia said.
The baby was well and healthy.
