THE Team Leader of the 3rd Chinese Medical Team (CMT), Dr Guo Mao has thanked Solomon Islands Government, through the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS), and the Chinese Embassy in Honiara and all the patients they served for contributing towards the success of their mission in Solomon Islands.
Dr Guo conveyed words of acknowledgement on behalf of his team to these crucial CMT stakeholders at a farewell ceremony hosted for them by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services on Tuesday.
The farewell coincided with the welcome of the 4th CMT and the donation of medical equipment and drugs worth more than SBD600,000 by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to the National Referral Hospital (NRH) Comprehensive Medical Centre (CMC). The ceremony was held in front of the CMC.
Dr Guo said as his team leave Solomon Islands, they will carry with them cherished memories of the country and a deep sense of fulfillment.
“To the Government of Solomon Islands, especially the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and the National Referral Hospital, thank you for your warm welcome and unwavering support during our time here. Your trust and cooperation have enabled us to fully engage in our medical work of providing care and treatment to countless patients.”
Dr Guo said the establishment of cooperative between the Guizhou Medical University Affiliated Hospitals and the NRH along with the completion of the NRH CMC have not only enhanced the medical capabilities of the NRH, but also deepened the friendship between China and Solomon Islands.
“Our thanks also go to the Chinese Embassy in Solomon Islands. Your tireless efforts in facilitating communication, ensuring our safety and providing support have allowed us to focus on our medical duties.
“We are also thankful for the solidarity and cooperation shown by our colleagues at the NRH. Your dedication, professionalism and friendship have made our time here unforgettable. Special thanks go to patients we have served.
“Your trust and gratitude have been our greatest motivation. Lastly, I would like to thank my fellow team members for your hard work. We have been through a lot together, and your support and encouragement have been invaluable. As we prepare to leave, we carry with us cherished memories and a deep sense of fulfillment,” Dr Guo said.
Dr Guo expressed confidence that, “the seeds of our friendship and cooperation that we have sown will continue to grow and bear fruits.”
