UP to 74 voters failed to turn up to cast their ballots at Nafinua polling station in East Malaita Constituency on polling day.
Presiding officer for the constituency Michael Matangani it’s not clear why the voters did not show up.
He said the number was quite big, which can make a difference to the outcome of the election.
There were 597 registered voters for Nafinua polling stations in ward 15. Records reveal only 523 voters cast their ballots.
Seven candidates contested the East Malaita seat.
Counting for the constituency will continue today.
