THE heavy downpour in the past few days has already irked some residents and has put many in preparatory modes.
There were no reports of severe flooding but the weather office have forecasted that rain will continue.
Residents of Independence Valley, West Honiara were already put to work by the flooding drains that inundated some ground kitchens and areas.
“We’re cleaning up debris from flooded drainages that intruded into our areas,” one resident said
The residents said it was clear more rain was coming therefore proper clearing of debris from drains was important.
Some roads are already being eaten away by flooded drains and rivers.
Some passenger boats also cancelled their scheduled trips during the weekend.
The weather office continues to issue flood and tropical disturbance watch advices.
