TRANSPORT owners around Honiara are calling on the government through the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) to address the traffic jam issue that continues to irk commuters.
Taxi driver Samson Ofalanga who claimed to be speaking on behalf of drivers and commuters yesterday said, the problem is becoming a real problem and must be addressed.
“Its now getting from bad to worst and needs more focus from the government through MID.
“We are being badly affected by the traffic jam in our daily movement,” Mr. Ofalanga said.
He stressed the situated affects the working people, students and others who are on the rush movements.
“I believe our leaders have face the problem and they should find ways to address the situation.”
He blamed poor planning from past leaders which resulted in the current problem.
Mr. Ofalanga also highlighted the need for better roads which can withstand heavy rain.
“As tax payers, we need better roads in our city,” he said.
