Honiara City Police Detectives have made significant progress with their investigation in relation to the alleged robbery incident at Point Cruz, Monday this week.
Three male suspects have been arrested at the Hammock Beach area at approximately 8.30 on Monday.
The alleged robbery incident occurred at the BSP BANK that was formerly the Westpac Bank at approximately 9.00 am.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Honiara City police launched an immediate investigation shortly after receiving the report of the incident.
Information acquired led the detectives to a location at the Hammock Breach where they identified and apprehended the three male suspects.
The three suspects are aged 42, 37 and 32.
The police detectives conducted a quick search and recovered a substantial amount of cash at the same location.
Police also detained a motor vehicle which is suspected to be related to the alleged robbery.
The recovered items were brought back to Honiara City Police Station where they are currently being stored as exhibits.
Police have interviewed the suspects and have also spoken to and obtained statements from several witnesses.
Furthermore, intelligent information gathered by the detectives indicated that there are other suspects.
Police detectives are continuing with their investigation which has received remarkable assistance from the public.

Honiara City Police Detectives are expecting to make additional arrests as the investigation progresses.
