An individual had been arrested in connection to store break-in incident in Choiseul Province.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro Police Station made the arrest.
According to police reports, a father (victim) locked his store and went out with his family to cut firewood.
When they returned, the father found out that someone has broken into their store and stole an unknown amount of cash and valuable items.
The victim went to his neighbours and inquire about the incident. He later reported the incident to the police.
Choiseul Provincial Police Commander, Superintendent Berry Pogesopa, confirmed that they launched an investigation and a suspect was eventually arrested.
According to Superintendent Pogesopa, the suspect they arrested entered into the store using a hammer and a pinch bar.
The suspect left the hammer inside the store.
The suspect has been charged with house-breaking with the intent to commit a felony, contrary to section 301(b) of the Penal Code.
The suspect was released on bail and is scheduled to appear before the Taro Magistrate Court at a later date.
Superintendent Pogesopa appealed to the people of Choiseul Province to respect each other and refrain from such criminal act.
