IN preparation for the Kukudu Adventist College (KAC) mini reunion which is scheduled for July, a mini concert is being planned next month in Honiara.
The event is being planned during the school break at Kukudu, Kolombangara, Western Province.
A statement from the organising committee based in Honiara said, the concert will be held on Sunday 1st June at the Alex Currie Hall, Kukum SDA School in East Honiara.
A number of singing groups have been engaged to sing in support of the program which will start around 3pm in the afternoon.
Freewill offerings will be collected along with the sales of food during the program.
“There will be sales of finger foods as well as food like hot dogs, egg burger, cakes and also drinks during the program,” the statement said.
The organising committee is appealing to former staff and students of Kukudu based in Honiara to turn up and support the program by bringing some food.
“We need support from each classes over the past years to help contribute in preparing food for the program,” the statement said.
The class of 1995 to 2000 will be responsible for proving and selling of drinks.
Former students from other classes are being asked to support by bringing cakes, breads and buns.
“Those who are willing to provide protein food are also welcomed,” the statement added.
All the former students and staff are being encouraged to come in numbers to support the cause.
“Please we need all your support one way or another. Because this money we raise from this concert will help towards organising the upcoming mini reunion for all the former students of Kukudu,” the statement said.
Former students have been urged to pass the message to other former and existing students.
Several committees have been formed in Honiara and in Western Province to prepare for the event.
The Honiara-based committee held its meeting on Monday 12th May.
The Western provincial-based committee held its meeting over the weekend.
“If you have nothing to do on Sunday 1st June, come and support the program,” the statement said.
