In celebration of World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, and Coral Triangle Day 2025, a special event will be held on Thursday, May 5th, at the Honiara Futsal Multipurpose Hall.
Organized under the themes “Beat Plastic Pollution, “Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us” and “One Triangle, Infinite Beauty” the event is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology (MECDM) and the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR).
The program will feature educational displays and awareness activities, along with the announcement of winners of the School Poem and Speech Competitions organized by the two ministries.
To kick things off, a voluntary cleanup is being be held on Wednesday 4th May, with designated routes including Bahai area to the HCC Youth Hub, Honiara City Council car park to the Youth Hub and Fijian Quarter to the Youth Hub at Lawson Tama
