The Lauru Kuvojo team has received a heroic welcome from fans, supporters and family upon their arrival in Taro, Choiseul province.
Team Kuvojo returned after participating in the Solomon Cup (SC) 2025, which successfully ended last week in Honiara
The team receives a warm garland at the provincial wharf, before heading to the provincial chambers for a light refreshment.
The program was attended by the provincial Premier Hon. Harrison Pitakaka, Lauru Football Association (LFA) vice president Lawrence Isa and representatives from Choiseul provincial government.
Speaking during the ceremony, Isa acknowledged the team’s hard work and commitment for their participations in the competition.

“We gather here to welcome you home, despite the challenges, you’ve done great and make us proud,”
He added that Kuvojo’s dream to reach the final was cut short, due to controversies surrounding the SC.
“It was an unfortunate outcome, but it does not take away the strength, determination and heart shown by our players,” he said.
He emphasized that football is a powerful tool that can unite and strengthen communities.
“Football is more than just running and kicking the ball, but it builds communities and unite people, and we are here today because of football,”
Isa also conveyed his gratitude to head coach Mr Tibon Oge and the guest players for being part of Lauru Kuvojo.
“Your great experience and presence has brought great value and lifted the teams’ spirit and for that you have earned our respect,” He said.

The Hon. Premier Pitakaka also stated that Choiseul provincial government (CPG) will continue to support Lauru Kuvojo.
“On behalf of the CPG we will continue to render our support for this team,” he assured.
Pitakaka also calls on the LFA executive to continue support Kuvojo given their upcoming international match in Bougainville
He added that Lauru Kuvojo squad 2025 is a victorious team, even though being denied into the semi-final.
“I really appreciate the resilience of this team and the people of Choiseul, we will come back stronger,” He said.
Meanwhile, Lauru Kuvojo will represent Solomon Island to participate in an international match in Arawa, Bougainville.
The invitation comes after Kuvojo defeated Tomoko in their pool B match in the recent SC.
