The Solomon Islands National U16 women’s football team is set to kickoff campaign against American Samoa in the OFC U16 Women’s Championship 2025 this Saturday 2nd August 2025 in Samoa.
Solomon Islands have been drawn in group B alongside New Zealand, Tonga and American Samoa.
While group A includes the hosts Samoa, Fiji, New Caledonia and Tahiti.
The competition is set to kick off this Friday in Samoa with group A matches while group B matches are set for this Saturday.
With Solomon Islands facing American Samoa this Saturday, their second group match will be on Tuesday 5th August against New Zealand before facing Tonga on Friday 8th.
The OFC U16 womens championship this year in Samoa will not only for the trophy on the line but also two places at the FIFA U17 Womens wolrd cup 2026 in Morocco with the two finalists advancing to the tournament in Morocco next year.
Meanwhile, the team assistance coach Priscilla Tariga confirmed the team readiness to local media before their departure last Friday to Samoa.
