The University of South Pacific’s (USP) Solomon Islands Campus opened its door to students, educators, and the public on Friday for its annual open day event at King George Campus, East Honiara.
The annual event was designed to provide prospective to students with essential information to help them make informed decisions about higher education goals.
Since its launch the facility has seen a surge in enrolment and growing public interests, underscoring its role in advancing education, sustainability, and economic growth across the Solomon Islands.
The theme for the event is; ‘Serving the Pacific.’
Chairlady of the open day committee Fuatino Malasa said, the theme is also a reminder of the roles the university played as educators, nurtures, and students.
“We are actively involved in shaping the futures of our families, children, and communities,” she said.
She added, as students they are leaders to serve with humility and love.
“The qualities you possess as leaders should will take you to greater heights and leave a lasting impression on the people around you.”
The Open Day featured interactive sessions with faculty from schools around Honiara, offering prospective students a glimpse into the university’s programmes, exploring the high-end facilities, infrastructure, services offered at the campus, and its commitment to nurturing future leaders across the Blue Pacific Continent.
The newly built infrastructure is designed to meet the needs of both current and future generations, with organizers expressing hope that the event would inspire deeper engagement between schools, youth, and the broader community.
