The Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS) has acknowledged a generous donation of SBD$150,000 from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Honiara to pay for stationery.
The donation was formally received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Ms. Karen Galokale, on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025.
The funds are specifically provided to support the purchase of basic stationary items for the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), particularly as the Force intensifies its operations for the upcoming Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Security Operations.
In her remarks, Ms. Galokale expressed the Ministry’s sincere gratitude, stating that, “This timely assistance will greatly support the RSIPF in acquiring the much-needed stationary supplies, which are essential to the day-to-day work of our officers as they prepare for major security operations.
“On behalf of the Ministry and the Government, I acknowledge with deep appreciation the ongoing support of the People’s Republic of China towards policing and security development in the Solomon Islands.”
She further highlighted that such assistance reflects the close and growing partnership between Solomon Islands and the PRC, particularly in the area of law and order, which remains a cornerstone for peace, stability, and national development.
The Ministry recognized the PRC Embassy’s contribution as an important demonstration of solidarity and partnership, reaffirming the commitment of both governments to work together in strengthening national security and supporting the operational needs of the RSIPF.
The Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services once again extends its appreciation to the People’s Republic of China for this donation, noting that the support comes at a critical time when the country is preparing to host significant regional engagements.
