Cocoa farmers from Kolotubi and Kolomola in Isabel have successfully completed a training focusing on grafting cocoa plants.
The training was conducted by a Research Officer from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL).
After the training they proudly demonstrated and showcased their newly grafted cocoa plants.
The visit, fully funded by Varivao, provided hands-on sessions aimed at enhancing farmers’ skills in cocoa grafting, improving plant quality, and increasing productivity.
The initiative marks an important step in supporting agricultural development and empowering local farmers within Kolotubi and Kolomola Wards in the Kaipito Area.
By equipping farmers with practical knowledge and techniques, the program contributes to strengthening the cocoa industry in Isabel Province and the Solomon Islands as a whole.
Farmers expressed pride and optimism, noting that the training will help cultivate “a sweeter future together” for their communities.
