In a show of solidarity, regional unity and peace-building, Pacific Islands Forum Leaders on Wednesday 10th September 2025 officially signed the ‘Blue Ocean of Peace Declaration’ at the Friendship Hall in Honiara.
The Ocean of Peace Declaration is an initiative by Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka aimed at creating a shared regional vision for a peaceful, secure, and cohesive Blue Pacific.
It also marks a unified commitment by Forum Member States to uphold peace, stability, and solidarity across the Blue Pacific Continent.
The declaration affirms the Pacific’s long-standing values of dialogue, non-violence, and collective security, reinforcing the region’s stance on peaceful coexistence and cooperation amid rising global and regional tensions.
Not only that it aims to address environmental threats such as climate change and nuclear testing.
