“These outcomes are historic and reflect our collective will to safeguard the Blue Pacific for current and future generations,” PM Manele said.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that a full report and audit will be conducted following the Forum, in line with principles of good governance and accountability.
The Prime Minister also called for unity and action in his closing remarks.
PM Manele highlighted the significance of intergenerational responsibility, appreciating the contributions of youth, civil society, traditional leaders, the private sector, CROP agencies during the dialogues and side events.
“We must remain united, steadfast, and true to our calling as custodians of the Blue Pacific Continent,” he told leaders.
PM Manele further acknowledged the contributions from the youths during the Youth Roundtable, stating that they helped to shape the discussions of the leaders.
“Your voices reminded us that policies must never lose sight of our intergenerational responsibility,” PM Manele said.
Traditional leaders and faith-based organisations also contributed by reinforcing the importance of Pacific identity, values, and solidarity.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to the PIF Secretariat, bilateral partners, organising committee, State-owned enterprises, private sector, ministries, statutory bodies, provinces, HCC, RSIPF, service providers and the people of Solomon Islands for making the meeting a memorable success.
