Solomon Islands’ sole representative at the 2025 World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan Stephen Rahuasi, completed his event on Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old middle-distance runner competed against some of the world’s best in the 800m heats, finishing with a time of 1:55.21 and just shy of his personal best of 1:53.50, which he set during the recent Pacific Mini Games in July.
Although he finished 9th in his heat, it will be an experience the lad will remember for the rest of his life.
Rahuasi earned a wild card entry to participate in the prestigious championship for the first time, following his impressive performance at the Pacific Mini Games in Palau.
