The National Basketball Teams have received another wave of generous donations from local businesses, further strengthening their preparations for upcoming international competition.
Executive Officer of the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation Baptist Kelesi revealed this in a press conference last week.
He said, the support symbolized the growing partnership between Solomon Islands businesses and national sport.
This latest round of support builds on earlier contributions from a range of generous companies:
- United Auto – SBD $5,000
- Solomon Sheet Steel – SBD $7,000
- SI Cement – Full sponsorship of team uniforms and training gear
- V Fresh – 400 cartons of bottled water
- Low Price Enterprise – Camping necessities for team logistics
- Meatlovers – Meat supply
The management also extends heartfelt thanks to Caroline Wickham, whose company (Gency’s Kitchen) has stepped in to provide daily meals for the team, free of charge.
Her support has brought nourishment and care during these intense trainings.
“These contributions go far beyond material support,” said Kelesi from Team Solomon.
“They represent belief in our athletes, pride in our national identity, and a shared commitment to grow the game,” Kelesi added
Solomon Basketball executive appeals to the public to continue rally behind the team as they prepare to represent the nation with pride, unity, and determination.
The compettion will kick off next week.
