Dawn FC have been crowned champions of the 2025 Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Super Futsal League season.
A commanding 11-1 victory over defending champions Matakz FC in the season’s final match day saw the Arthur Bako-coached side clinched the title on superior goal difference, edging out runners-up Salt FC after both teams finished level on 46 points.
Speaking after the match, coach Bako praised his players for their determination and resilience throughout the season, especially after finishing third and second in the past two campaigns.
“Firstly, all glory and honor back to God for giving us the strength, and also to the boys they have worked so hard for it. We’ve been trying for four seasons now and finally we made it,” Bako said.
“We really worked hard this season, and today’s result shows how determined the boys were to fight for the title and become champions. I give all the credit back to the boys.”
With a squad built largely around young talent, Bako also lauded the leadership and commitment of his senior players.
“We have a lot of young boys in the team and a few seasoned players who are also with the national team. I want to thank everyone for their commitment in supporting the team,” he said.
“Throughout the season, we focused a lot on improving the players’ game understanding. This is quite a young side, and we also worked hard on the areas where we had been lacking over the past four years.”
The triumph not only secured Dawn’s first-ever SIFF Super Futsal League title but also booked their maiden appearance in next year’s OFC Futsal Champions League.
Dawn FC finished top of the table ahead of Salt FC in second place, while Strides FC settled for third.
A number of national futsal players are part of the team.
