The Papua New Guinea- Solomon Islands (PNG-SI) Business Council, PNGSIBC, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele MP.
During the brief meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Prime Minister Manele was updated on the level of collaboration between the PNGSIBC and its partner, the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry, SICCI.
The Prime Minister was also briefed on the desired policy direction, business opportunities, challenges, and platforms to enhance trade and investment between Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands.
Prime Minister Manele commended the PNGSIBC and SICCI on the signing of their new Memorandum of Understanding, MOU on Thursday
He said, the MOU will elevate regional cooperation, marking a significant step forward in fostering stronger business and economic ties between Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
He added, the Government for National Unity and Transformation welcomes this milestone as a vital development in promoting mutual growth, regional collaboration, and private sector engagement.
Reciprocal investment prospects and the value of cross-border learning between the two Melanesian neighbours was also discussed.
