The HookIn4Health (H4H) program is currently delivering its program to kids in and around Honiara.
The program aims to provide inclusivity, health and wellness, community development and gender equity.
H4H delivers its engagement hockey sessions for kids on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the national hockey center in King George, East Honiara.
“Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, Hookin4Health runs engaging hockey sessions designed especially for children — not just to play, but to grow, learn, and thrive,” H4H revealed in a statement.
It added during these sessions, kids enjoyed the program and were very playful.
This inclusive hockey activities continue to build teamwork, coordination, and confidence.
They also teached the partcipants on Health & Wellbeing Focus where in each session they integrates lessons from the Hockey Journal, promoting physical health, mental wellbeing, and positive lifestyle habits.
Safe & Supportive Environment: Led by passionate facilitators, the sessions emphasize safeguarding, inclusion, and respect — ensuring every child feels welcome and valued.
H4H confirmed that on Wednesday the kids took to the turf for a more structured experience, learning the basics of hockey gameplay from positioning and passing to understanding match flow.
“These sessions are part of our effort to gradually introduce competition-level understanding, helping young players build a strong foundation in the sport”.
H4H expressed excitement on the participants as they begun to grasp the rules and rhythm of the game.
“It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and curiosity as they began to grasp the rules and rhythm of the game”.
Meanwhile, these H4H engagement sessions is happening at the national hockey center every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
