Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Solomon Water Carmine Piantedosi has tendered his resignation from the organization, citing differences with the Board of Directors.
This was confirmed by the Dr Culwick Togamana Chair-SIWA Board of Directors.
In a statement he said, on 20th October 2025, Mr Piantedosi informed the Board of his decision to resign from the position of CEO.
His resignation will take effect on 20 January 2026, following the required three-month notice period under his contract of employment.
He stated that differences with the Board were the main reason for stepping down.
The Board acknowledges that differences of opinion can arise in governance discussions but remains focused on ensuring sound oversight and accountability.
Mr Piantedosi joined SIWA as CEO on 8th August 2023 and during his tenure led Solomon Water through a period of significant activity, including the implementation of the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project (UWSSP).
Solomon Water remains committed to delivering on its mandate under the Solomon Water Act 1993 and to efficiently managing government and donor-funded projects.
The Board also acknowledges the CEO’s contributions, together with senior management, in advancing the 30-Year Strategic Plan, the Five-Year Corporate Plan, and various organizational policies and programs under the UWSSP.
The Board notes with regret Mr. Piantedosi’s decision to resign and will begin an open and transparent process to recruit his replacement.
The Board thanks Mr. Piantedosi for his leadership and service to Solomon Water and wishes him every success in his future endeavours.
