Voza Community High School (VZCH) in Northwest Choiseul successfully held its graduation ceremony for its year 9 student on Thursday with a powerful message for graduates to build a legacy of positive change.
The event was held under the theme: ‘We are the future, building a legacy of change,’ focused on the power of young people shaping the world.
Parents, teachers, students and community leaders gathered to celebrate the event that was staged at Voza community church building.
In his address, the school principal, Mr Cleston Kule Ngalavole, urged the graduates to see their education as a foundation of a lifelong impact.
“Legacy is not built in one grand gesture but through a small act of excellence,” he said.
He added that a lasting legacy is built through daily actions such as respect, dedication and honesty rather than a single moment of success.
“The respect you show to your peers, the dedication you give to your work and the honesty which you live your life,” he said.
He called on the graduates to be agents of positive change, rise up with courage and face the challenges.
“The universe is eager for your ideas and leadership,” Ngalavole stated.
He urged them to carry the school’s core value of integrity, excellence and service as they move forward.
He thanked parents and guardians for their love and sacrifice, while honouring teachers for their passion and guidance in shaping the students.
Ngalavole concluded with a biblical reference on Jeremiah 29:11, assuring students to be a light in the world.
