A thief broke into the Jononi Shop in Gizo, Western Province early Sunday morning, escaping with about a thousand dollars in cash, a mobile phone, and other items.
The shop is owned by a Bangladesh man operating in Gizo for years.
The incident occurred at around 5am Sunday morning 2nd November 2025.
According to reports, the burglar entered the shop through a small, narrow passageway located between the Chan Corporation building and the Szetu building, where the Jononi Shop is situated.
The shop’s CCTV camera captured the break-in, which is now being reviewed by police investigators.
The footage saw the suspect entered the shop and walked towards the cashier area and looked for cash and other valuable items.
Jononi has two shops operating in Gizo.
Police is now appealing to members of the public who may have any information that could help identify or locate the suspect to come forward and assist with the investigation.
