Solomon Islands Government through the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) has acknowledged the Australian Government for its continuous support towards infrastructure development in Solomon Islands.
Minister responsible for Infrastructure Development Ricky Fuo’o echoed the acknowledgement this week at the two-day 14th Australia Solomon Islands Business Forum (14th ASIBF) in Brisbane, Australia.
The theme for the event is: “Connecting for Growth: Strengthening Australia-Solomon Islands Business Partnerships.”
He got the opportunity to speak at the forum on Wednesday 19th November 2025 and expressed government’s sincere thanks.
“I would like to thank the Australian Government for its continuous support for our projects.
These projects reflect not just our national ambitions, but the very real, practical support Australia has extended,” he said.
“Most importantly by funding infrastructure Solomon Islanders can actually feel, use, touch and see allowing Solomon Islanders to see its impact on their day to day lives.”
He added, the Solomon Islands Infrastructure Program (SIIP) – Australia’s 10-year infrastructure partnership with Solomon Islands – has been instrumental.
“Through SIIP, we are not just building roads and airports, we are building capacity, strengthening planning and procurement, and ensuring infrastructure is inclusive and resilient.”
Minister Fuo’o also expressed gratitude towards supporting the transport sector in Solomon Islands.
“Your government’s continued injection of funds into our National Transport Fund (NTF) has helped us to accelerate priority transport infrastructure.
“We are deeply thankful and hopeful for additional future funding – because every dollar helps us close and deliver connectivity to more Solomon Islanders.”
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele and some of his ministers also participated at the forum which concluded on Wednesday.
