Solomon Islands continue to make its mark in the Futsal code with the local Futsal Club Mataks being crowned the champ of the OFC Futsal Men’s Club championship.
The boys defeated Waikato Rapids of New Zealand to retain the title.
After a disappointing start in their campaign after losing two of their opening matches, they regrouped in their final matches to reach the final.
On Sunday evening they eventually lifted the trophy much to the excitement of the players and fans in Suva and back at home.
The match ended in a 4-all draw after the full time and it went into penalty shoot-out at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji.
The victory was described as another historic moment for futsal in the Solomons.
