The Solomon Islands National Women’s team received the fair play award at the MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2025, held in Papua New Guinea.
Although they didn’t got the result they expected in the tournament, they showed great sportsmanship and fair play throughout the competition.
Team’s skipper Ileen Pegi received the award on behalf of the team during the official closing ceremony on Tuesday is Papua New Guinea.
Solomon Islands National Women’s teams have hard a tough campaign in the recent MSG Prime Ministers cup 2025 settling on the fourth spot.
The team faces PNG Red in pool match which and defeated PNG red 2-0 and qualify for the semifinals where they were thrashed by the champions PNG Gold 5-0.
Despite the lose they settles for the third and fourth place playoff amd suffered a 4-2 defeat to Vanuatu to end their campaign in the first ever MSG Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s tournaments.
