A 33-year-old man accused of being part of a group that stole a large quantity of gold carbon from the Gold Ridge Mining Company in Central Guadalcanal will now take his plea on December 15.
Aron Loke, who faces one count of Warehouse Breaking and Committing Felony, appeared in the Honiara Magistrate’s Court this week on remand.
The case was adjourned to allow Loke to enter his plea.
The alleged theft occurred at around 1:35am on 11 October 2025 at the Gold Ridge Mining compound.
A group of men reportedly entered the company’s Acom Base site, broke the lock of a storage container, and stole a large quantity of gold carbon before fleeing the scene.
The matter was reported to Henderson Police, who launched an investigation and obtained CCTV footage showing the men entering the storage container at the time of the incident.
Loke was later identified by witnesses as one of the men involved.
He was arrested on 17 October and, during a police interview, allegedly admitted to taking part in the offence along with others.
The other suspects remain at large.
