Members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) along with the AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), recently visited communities across Honiara to deliver Christmas gifts and support festive activities.
The visits were a way to thank communities for their ongoing partnership throughout the year.
The program began at Naha Police Station, where the team helped with the station’s Christmas celebrations and distributed gifts to community members.
They then visited West Kolaridge and Gilbert Camp, as well as Savo Heights, Karaina, Riffle Range, Fisheries, Bloody Ridge, and other communities that have actively participated in RSIPF engagement activities during the year.
Health, Wellness, and Community Engagement Team Leader Kristina Sau’eha said the visits were an important way to recognize the communities’ support.
“These communities have played a vital role in our programs this year. We thank you for your support and cooperation. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy Christmas and celebrates responsibly,” she said.
The visits also gave RSIPF officers a chance to meet directly with community members, especially children, sharing messages about safety, wellbeing, and responsible celebration. Community members expressed their appreciation, noting that the visits help strengthen the relationship between the police and the communities.
“This year has had its challenges, but the partnership between RSIPF and our communities has stayed strong. The support we receive from the police encourages us to work together for the safety and well-being of everyone,” said a representative from Gilbert Camp.
The RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program continues to focus on community engagement, building trust, promoting safety, and encouraging shared responsibility. The Christmas visits highlight the value of collaboration and mutual support between the police and the communities they serve.
