Solomon Islands National Broadband Infrastructure Project (SINBIP) has successfully completed the construction and commissioning of another telecommunications tower in Jack Harbour, Western Province.
The newly commissioned site has now been officially brought on air, further enhancing network coverage and connectivity in Solomon Islands.
The construction of the telecommunication towers is made possible through funding from the People’s Republic of China, implemented by China Harbour Engineering Company Limited and Huawei in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Aviation of Solomon Islands Government.
With the commissioning of this site, CHEC has cumulatively completed and activated a total of 59 telecommunication towers across the country.
The newly commissioned tower is part of CHEC’s ongoing efforts to support the development of Solomon Islands national communications infrastructure, improving mobile network coverage, service reliability, and access to digital connectivity for local communities.
The successful activation of these sites contributes significantly to the overall objectives of the SINBIP project, which aims to expand wireless network coverage and improve communication services nationwide.
CHEC, Huawei, and MCA continue to work closely with engineers and relevant stakeholders to complete the remaining construction, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring the project progresses in an orderly manner and delivers long-term benefits to Solomon Islands.
