The Commissioner of Forest Resources has labelled Alekoti Alevangana’s lousy tarnishing tactic in a Solomon Star article as mere illusive claims; attempting to misinform the public.
Titled, “FSC accuses Commissioner of Forests over termination of TMA”; the intention was clear – a propaganda in attempt to camouflage his own wrongful doings, the Commissioner responded in a statement.
The statement further clarifies that the decision to terminate the Technical and Marketing Agreement (TMA) was done with due diligence checking, and found faulty on Mr Alevangana’s side pertaining to his own conspired dealings.
Basically, an alleged fraudulent dealing without the consent of the other two directors of FSC Company Ltd. These two directors raised their complaints to terminate the TMA to the Commissioner of Forests office.
It adds the forestry office acted within its legal boundaries and what has transpired over this minor issue has caused a pain to Mr. Alevangana; the reason he chooses to bark in the media.
The Forestry Office went on to explain that it understood FSC Company Limited has three directors, Mr Alekoti being with the least share at 20 percent; other directors with 50 percent and 30 percent shares respectively.
All directors hold the felling license A101925 under the FSC Company Limited, which initially contracted Pacific Everest Lumber Limited (PELL) as rightly stated. However, it was Mr Alekoti who deceive the other two directors in 2024 and go his own way and initiate a new agreement with Sunway (SI) Ltd without their knowledge and consent as supposed to be, agreed on by all directors.
Even then, both Alekoti acting as 100 percent shareholding of FSC Company Limited then, with Sunway (SI) Limited continued operation and exported four log shipments, the statement explains.
Subsequently, none of these export proceeds entered into the FSC Company Limited bank account to which all directors are signatories; triggering suspicion for the other two directors.
It is then that the matter was raised to the Commissioner of Forests office, and with thorough due diligence checking, TMA between FSC Company Limited whilst under Mr Alekoti himself and Sunway (SI) Ltd was terminated then.
Thus, the directives to revoke the TMA was based on due facts findings noting erroneous dealings by Mr Alekoti Alevangana.
The Forestry Office is also aware that this matter has been taken further to the High Court by the two aggrieved directors against Mr Alekoti and Sunway (SI) Ltd, and is subject to investigation by the RSIPF as well.
Thus, outrightly the lousy claims made by Mr Alekoti are baseless to say the least, and are illusive.
The statement further dismisses lame excuses not to get comments from the Commissioner of Forest office for a balanced and well-informed article by Solomon Star as irresponsible journalism.
This is irrational, it is always paramount that such issues be duly made known to authorities’ concern, seeking a balance opinion prior to publication which is not the case.
