The North Guadalcanal Constituency (NGC) office, under the leadership of Honourable Dr. Paul Bosawai, MP, reaffirmed its dedication to education development, emphasizing that this remains one of the top priorities for the constituency.
Hon. Dr. Bosawai made this statement during the official handover of much-needed hardware and building materials for 15 schools in the constituency last Friday.
The recipient schools are: Pitukoli RTC, Pitukoli Community High School, Sali Kindy and Primary, Binu Primary School, Nguvia Primary School, Suagi Catholic Primary School, Suagi Anglican Primary School, Nguvia Eden Private School, Nguvia Community High School, Tenavatu Community High School, Navola Kindy ECE School, Vutu Kindy School, Ghaobata Community High School, Tumurora Community High School, and Sir Jacob Memorial School.
The support, worth $190,000 of tax payers money, is part of the $3.2 million allocated under the 2025 Constituency Development Funds (CDF) budget for NGC, under the Preferred Supplier Arrangement (PSA) component.
“Education remains one of the top priorities for our constituency,” Hon. Dr. Bosawai said.
This assistance demonstrates NGC’s ongoing commitment to education development and improving learning environments for both students and staff.
“This support underscores our confidence that education is the foundation for a brighter future. A path to success is through education. Education provides us with opportunities to prosper and excel. So, we are investing in the future,” Dr. Bosawai highlighted.
“We are committed to working alongside schools to ensure students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”

Hon. Dr. Bosawai also emphasized the transformative power of education as the most effective means to eradicate poverty.
“Education is the key to unlocking opportunities and lifting communities out of poverty. It is the foundation upon which individuals can build better lives, secure sustainable employment, and contribute meaningfully to national development,” he stressed.
Highlighting the importance of accessible and quality education for children in his constituency, Hon. Dr. Bosawai assured that the constituency office, under his leadership, will continue to assist more students with school fees and facilitate other educational supports to ensure that no child is left behind.

Dr. Bosawai also acknowledged the government, through the Ministry of Education, for its continued support to constituencies through the education grant, supplemented by the CDF support, which enables constituencies to assist children in their education.
He stressed that empowering the youth through knowledge is essential for a prosperous future.
He also confirmed that 163 students have been supported by the NGC office, since 2024.
The NGC’s continued commitment highlights its dedication to community development and investing in the next generation.
Meanwhile, Mark Pasa, Principal of Pitukoli Community High School, and Hilda Poru, ECE Supervisor at Navola Primary School, who spoke on behalf of the recipient schools, expressed profound gratitude to the NGC office for the generous assistance.
They said that the support will indeed help schools in their development programs—particularly in building classrooms, staff houses, and other essential school infrastructure to provide a more conducive learning environment and space for students.

“When more classrooms are built, more students will access education, thereby contributing to the achievement of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
They also assured the constituency office of their continued support and collaboration towards educational development in NGC, ensuring quality education is accessible to children.
Before the handover, the constituency office conducted two weeks of assessment and scoping work at the schools to ensure that assistance meets their specific needs.
Constituency Project Officer (CPO) Stobart Nunuvia thanked all the schools for their support and collaboration during the assessment and scoping process.

He said that the assessment was important to identify schools’ specific needs that the budget could address.
“From the assessments, we found that schools mainly requested construction materials for classrooms and staff houses,” CPO Stobart explained.
Upon receiving the support, schools also signed a ‘Project Release Form,’ facilitated by NGC, as required under the CDF Act 2023.
The NGC office has been supporting churches, schools, individuals, and other community development initiatives over the past two years with CDF support, demonstrating a commitment to improving socio-economic development in the constituency.
