Applications for the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarships for 2027 are now available.
The Australian Government through its tax payers have been supporting Solomon Islanders with scholarships over the past years.
For 2026 a total of 36 Solomon Islanders have been awarded the prestigious Australia Awards Scholarships after successful applying in 2025.
Among them, 16 women- breaking barriers and leading the way in fields such as infrastructure, Economics Growth, Governance, Health and Education.
These scholarships are pathways for women and men to become leaders who drive inclusive development, gender equality and positive change in Solomon Islands.
Solomon Islanders have been urged to submit their application by 30 April 2026, to study in Australia commencing in 2027, the statement said.
“Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international scholarships that provide the next generation of global leaders with the opportunity to study, research, and develop professionally in Australia.
“Solomon Islanders are encouraged to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Australian universities starting in 2027,” the statement said.

Apart from the Australia Awards Scholarships, the Australian Government is also providing Australia Skills Award Scholarships for 2026 to allow Solomon Islanders to study at selected Rural Training Centres (RTCs) across the country through the Australia Skills Awards.
The scholarships cover course fees (paid directly to the RTC) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Women, men, and people with disabilities have been strongly encouraged to apply.
Scholarships will be awarded this month.
