More than 100 parishioners from Ususue Catholic Parish in Malaita Province gathered on Saturday January 31, 2026, to witness the priestly ordination of Fr. Nicholas Ramonga.
The ordination ceremony was held at Ususue Parish and was officiated by the newly appointed Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Auki, Rt. Rev. Bishop Jacob Aba.
It marked the first priestly ordination conducted by Bishop Aba since his appointment.
The event was described as a significant and grace-filled occasion for the local Catholic Church and the faithful of Ususue Parish.
According to Catholic Communications Solomon Islands, the historic ceremony affirmed Fr. Ramonga’s commitment to serving God’s people and brought pride and blessings to Ususue Parish and the wider Catholic community in Malaita Province.
Parishioners and church leaders expressed joy and thanksgiving, noting that the occasion reflected the strength and unity of the Catholic faith in the province.
The ordination of Fr. Nicholas Ramonga adds to the number of local priests currently serving the Diocese of Auki and Catholic communities throughout Malaita Province.
