The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA), trading as Solomon Ports, have further strengthened their longstanding partnership.
This followed a courtesy visit by SICCI leadership to Solomon Ports Chief Executive Officer, Mr. George Rausi.
The meeting, held recently at the Solomon Ports headquarters, served as a platform to formalise the renewal of Solomon Ports’ Platinum Sponsorship for the 2026 calendar year.
This renewed commitment underscores Solomon Ports’ continued dedication to supporting the private sector and advancing the national business agenda.
The SICCI delegation was led by Board Chairlady Namoi Kaluae and included Chief Executive Officer, James Dolarii. They were warmly received by CEO Mr George Rausi.
During the discussions, both parties reflected on the enduring collaboration between the two institutions.
Solomon Ports has been a pillar of support for SICCI’s flagship programs, including the prestigious SICCI Business Excellence Awards, where the Authority has previously sponsored key award categories to recognise and celebrate excellence within the local business community.
CEO Rausi reaffirmed Solomon Ports’ commitment to fostering a conducive environment for economic growth.
As a State-Owned Enterprise that prides itself on operational excellence and its role as a catalyst for private sector development, Solomon Ports recognises the importance of a strong and representative voice for business.
“The continued support from Solomon Ports is instrumental in enabling SICCI to deliver on its core mandate,” stated SICCI Chair Lady Namoi Kaluae stated.
SICCI Chief Executive Officer, Mr James Dolarii said SIPA’s Platinum Sponsorship fuels the engine of the Chambers’ advocacy work, policy initiatives, and member programs.
“It is a testament to their visionary leadership and their understanding that a thriving private sector is essential for national prosperity. We are deeply grateful to CEO George Rausi and his team for their unwavering partnership and confidence in SICCI,” Mr Dolarii stated.
The renewed sponsorship will directly support SICCI’s strategic priorities for 2026, which include high-level engagements such as the Prime Minister’s Breakfast, the PNG-Solomon Islands Business Forum, and intensified advocacy on critical reforms, including land policy and improvements to the business operating environment.
CEO Rausi welcomed the continued collaboration, emphasising Solomon Ports’ role as an enabler of trade and economic activity.
He noted that partnerships with key private sector bodies like SICCI are vital to ensuring that the nation’s ports infrastructure and services align with the needs of businesses and contribute to the socio-economic well-being of the Solomon Islands.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their commitment to exploring further areas of mutual cooperation throughout 2026, aimed at boosting business capacity and contributing meaningfully to national economic progress.
